Product description

MOTS-c is a 16-amino acid mitochondrial-derived peptide encoded within the mitochondrial 12S rRNA gene. It functions as a metabolic signaling molecule and is widely studied in metabolic and longevity research for its capacity to translocate to the nucleus during metabolic stress and activate AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK).

Primary research focus

  • Metabolic Homeostasis

Researched in relation to insulin sensitivity, glucose oxidation, and energy expenditure.

  • Exercise Mimetic Signaling

Evaluated for its capacity to stimulate metabolic pathways similar to physical exertion.

  • Mitochondrial Health & Longevity

Studied in cellular senescence and systemic metabolic flexibility models.

Storage

As a general lab-handling guideline, lyophilized peptides are relatively stable at room temperature for short periods but should be moved to refrigerated storage (roughly 2–8°C) as soon as practical after receipt, and kept away from light and humidity. For longer-term storage, freezing is often preferred. This is general handling information only, not usage or dosing guidance.
